The Australian Giant Spiny Leaf Insect isn’t just a weird bug, they’re a weird bug that can breed asexually by laying super weird eggs. These eggs have a little nutritious nubbin called a capitulum, which is attractive to ants. The ants carry the eggs back to their nest, eat the capitulum, and throw the rest of the egg away. Baby stick insects disguised as ants later crawl out of the refuse pile and use their amazing camouflage to escape the hive. What a crazy life cycle!
